You have choices.
You can refinish it yourself for about $50 in product cost and 30-40 hours of your time.
You can have it professionaly refinished for about $300-$400.
You can restore it with Wood Elixir for about $5 and 1 hour of your time. This will not remove the gouge but will reduce the appearance of it.
