I have a 35 yr. old solid cherry dining table that I keep a tablecloth over because it looks bad on the top. I'd like to fix it so the beauty of the wood will show & be protected. It has some water spots, some places where it looks like the table pad was put on top of something sticky and left felt residue behind, and it also has a rather long gouge (but this has not broken the surface to the wood below). What do you recommend I do?
