Thanks.
#2 Really? I thought restoring some oil moisture in old wood was a good thing? Are you saying that your product moisturizes too?Follow up Q: I guess my concern is if one would want t ore-apply a new finish- lacquer, etc. or restain the deep scratches-- would the previous application of wood elixir prevent such other treatments.
New Q1: The foot of one chair leg feels soft and is darkened in color..almost as if its beginning to rot. Will Wood Eleixir help this or harm it more? Any suggestions?
New Q2: How is your product differnet than Howards Restore-a-Finish?
New Q3: Unfinished wood? or wood wear previous finish is severly worn almost to all bare wood. Similar question to followup-Q above. Can I use your product and will it prevent future refinishing procedures.
(Alos inherited a small chest of drawers told to be vintage 1900-1920. Color- on the reddish hue, but wood type unknown.)
I think I'm goin to purchase some to try. Available in stores? I'm in SC, USA.

: : #1 Muriatic Acid
: #2 There is nothing to stop you, but there is
: no benefit.
: Note to #1 - Muriatic Acid will remove
: instantly, 500 years or tarnish from brass

: polishing after that with a brass polish.
: (I use Wood Elixir applied with 0000 steel

: I have to caution you that if it is a bona
: fide antique, you might not want to clean
: it. Collectors prefer to see the 'patina'
: which indicates age.
: Note to #2 - Lemon oil serves no purpose
: whatever.
