#1 Muriatic Acid #2 There is nothing to stop you, but there is no benefit. Note to #1 - Muriatic Acid will remove instantly, 500 years or tarnish from brass or copper. The piece will require polishing after that with a brass polish. (I use Wood Elixir applied with 0000 steel wool which gives a warm color and protective finish to prevent oxidation.) I have to caution you that if it is a bona fide antique, you might not want to clean it. Collectors prefer to see the 'patina' which indicates age. Note to #2 - Lemon oil serves no purpose whatever.
