Dull finish on dresser, re perfume spray?

I have a Pennsylvania House cherry dresser that is about 27 years old. I've always cleaned it with Old English furniture polish.
I've noticed that the finish is terribly dull and lifeless in the past 2-3 months. I also keep my perfume on the dresser and wonder if the spray from the perfume may be causing the finish to dull. Or, is it Old English build-up?
In any case, do you have any ideas how I can improve the appearance of the finish of the top of my dresser?
Thank you for your time and attention to my problem.
