--Previous Message-- : Hello. : I have found a beautiful ottoman style chair : with alot of ornate carving. It is very : obvious that the chair has severe weather : damage. It looks to have been through bad : rain and intense heat. There are alot of : splits in the legs one major split has : warped. The wood inside the split doesn't : look to be too bad. The color has faded : pretty bad. The wood looks like it needs : reconditioning. My question: Do I soak : my wood pieces in anything to restore : moisture before I would attempt to fill : the cracks or make other repairs? What : could I do? I want this to be a functional : piece.
