    Darkened veneer under crazing

150 yr old side board with veneer front drawers has finish that has turned almost black where the "flames patterns" are in the veneer. Close examination reveals crazing of the veneer in the direction of the grain in these areas. Lemon oil was used in it in the past and some other areas on cabinet doors has turned dark, possibly from oil seeping through thin areas of finish. The doors and some other areas have some whitening due to sun damage. Any suggestions?
