Hi Porter,

If the heat / water damage is lighter than the finish (i.e. white water marks, heat blush), then Wood Elixir will remove the moisture trapped in the finish which causes such white marks (in a few cases, a second application may be required). If the wood itself has been damaged, then the marks will be darker and need to be bleached out (not a process recommended for the do-it-yourselfer).

: I had recently purchased a dining room table set with (6) chairs and with (2) middle table extentions. The chairs look great, but the top of the table & extentions seem to have either heat damage and water damage to them all. This damage has gone all the way through the finish down to the wood. It's not the entire table that's damaged just some areas more than others. It hasn't taken off the stain finish on the wood as of yet, but it has (and you can tell) taken off the clear coating in some places. I am not sure what type of finish is on the set.
