There are two things to do.
1) Apply Wood Elixir to the offending spots using '0000' steel wool. Rub to desired smoothness. To increase luster. Apply several (10-20) VERY LIGHT (one drop of Wood Elixir per square foot of finish) treatments of Wood Elixir allowing 2-3 hours between treatments.
2) Don't let your daughter do her nails at the table.
