The first thing that Wood Elixir will do is a thorough cleaning. This means that it will brighten the finish to expose at least some of the grain unless of course, the finish on the wood is opaque, in which case it will clean and brighten only.
The chipped spots can be treated after the cleaning with lacquer markers to match the color of the wood.
No, Wood Elixir will not spread the finish around. Wood Elixir is ideal for floor wear areas since you can spot treat without doing the whole floor and yes, it is tough and water resistant after it cures.
