    Yes, a worn finish can be restored with Wood Elixir but, often what happens in these areas is that the finish (often containig the color) is worn off which means there is no finish left to restore. The worn areas will appear lighter. An easy test to see what color it will be after applying Wood Elixir is to wet the worn area with water. This will be the permanent color after the cleaning/restoration treatment with Wood Elixir.
