    Since Wood Elixir does not add much color, you can get a good idea of what color it will be by rubbing a drop of water into the unfinished wood; that will be the resultant color. If you would like to add more color, then stain first. Always test first.
    There is no latex or silcone in Wood Elixir. The finish produced on raw wood is similar to a French Polish finish and can be built up by applying several light treatments allowing a day in between coats to produce a richer color and deeper sheen.
    If you ever wanted to remove it (heaven forbid), you could use lacquer thinner or Minwax Furniture Refinisher.
