    Oak Veneer?

If a large area has risen, it means that the bond between the veneer and the secondary wood has been dissolved. This can be reattached by injecting glue into that space under the veneer using a hypodermic needle or a knife; wipe clean and apply heavy pressure 'til set. If it is solid oak, the water will produce a series of ridges running along the grain. These can be sanded smooth and then apply a new finish.

: We had a rain storm when we were not at home
: and water sat on our dresser for a long
: period of time. As a result, large areas
: have risen on our dresser giving it a
: rippled, uneven surface. What is the best
: way to repair this damage. Thanks, Gene
