If a large area has risen, it means that the bond between the veneer and the secondary wood has been dissolved. This can be reattached by injecting glue into that space under the veneer using a hypodermic needle or a knife; wipe clean and apply heavy pressure 'til set. If it is solid oak, the water will produce a series of ridges running along the grain. These can be sanded smooth and then apply a new finish. --Previous Message-- : We had a rain storm when we were not at home : and water sat on our dresser for a long : period of time.
