    Dear Parks,
Very carefully. Removing paint requires a type of paint stripper. It could be chemical, it could be heat. The best results will be achieved with the use of a chemical formula. There are many available for the purpose all of which will do the job. The thing to be cautious of with oak is do not use a water based product and be prepared to do considerable sanding to smooth the grain.
