    Dear Doctor:

I have recently received your product and I admit my first attempt shows improvement over the former state of the original finish. However after applying with the 0000 steel wool and waiting 15 minutes I then re-wooled the piece and waited another 15 minutes. I then removed the excess elixir and let the piece cure overnight. Buffing seems to be the most difficult part of this process as some areas seem dry and shiny after buffing and others seem dull and sticky, buff as I might. Is this the norm or do I simply need to use a wax polish to even the shine out? I was also wondering whether I should have used some stain to even the color on areas which were worn to the bare wood. These areas after using the elixir are still quite light as compared with the unworn areas.
