--Previous Message-- : i have been having alot of vandalism going : on.some of it to furniture.i had noticed : for a while some extensive damage to the : top of an antique butterchurn.it looks as : though some type of liquid was poured on : it.you can see the rings on it.then i : noticed the wood looks as though its : slowly decomposing,crumbling.is there : anything i can do to get it off the : wood?i've started noticing it on other : pieces of furniture and can you tell me : what can do this? it is more than just dry : or cracked furniture. it's as though it is : dissolving.i know it's connected to the : vandalism because there are too many other : acts of vandalism going on. i believe it's : some kind of chemical.i woke one morning : to find a coat of oily substance on : everything. i believe it was regular : furniture oil with this chemical substance : in it.after that i noticed the grain was : raised and splitting in places. the same : way the churn started out without the : oil.there are also scratches and dents on : things as a result of the vavdalism. :
