What I want to do is match the new wood to the old wood. I assumed that would mean refininshing the entire cabinet in order to facilitate the matching. Actually the old finish is in pretty good shape.
I would love to hear other methods. Understand that I am in no way very knowledgable about this sort of thing. I am getting all the info I can.
I got the book "The Furniture Dr." from the local library but cant find any specific reference to what I wanted to do.
Please, Any and all information would be very much appreciated.

: Question: When you say you're redoing the
: cabinet's finish, are you talking about
: the entire cabinet or just matching the
: drawer front to the existing finish?

: I have a Hoosier Kitchen cabinet that had to
: have a drawer face and a door remade. The
: grain of the new oak is a great match to
: the old grain. I am wondering how one
: matches the color or shade when redoing
    : the cabinet's finish
