I WAS SKEPTICAL, BUT I TRIED THIS PRODUCT ON REALLY OLD FLAKING PAINT - IT LITERALLY FELL OFF THE CANDY CONTAINER WHEN TOUCHED. I DID SCRAPE SOME OF THE WORST AREAS AND APPLIED THE ELIXIR IN TWO LIGHT APPLICATIONS, WIPING WITH AN OLD SOFT CLOTH DIAPER. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! THE REMAINING ORIGINAL PAINTED SURFACE IS STILL A LITTLE "PEBBLED", BUT IT IS SEALED AND DOES NOT FLAKE AT ALL. THE OLD COLORS ARE EVEN BRIGHTER AND NOW CAN BE RESTORED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRODUCT - IT DOES WORK!!!!!

: The answers are yes and yes. Wood Elixir will
: revive the old paint, stopping the flaking
: and will seal so that new paint can be
: applied. Allow several days after treating
: with Wood Elixir before applying the new
    : finish.

: FLAKING PAINT ON OLD PAINTED PAPER MACHE
: SURFACE - CAN THIS MIRACLE PRODUCT HELP
: CURE THIS PROBLEM?. IF IT SOLVES THE
: FLAKING, CAN PAINT BE APPLIED OVER THE
: APPLICATION OF THE ELIXIR??? BECAUSE IN
: SOME AREAS, THE PAINT IS GONE LEAVING THE
: PAPER MACHE AREA EXPOSED (UNPAINTED).
    : THANKS!
