1. Why are the prices in US Dollars?
Since most of our business is international, and 96% of the visitors to our website are American, all of our merchant accounts (VISA, MasterCard, and Discover) are in US Dollars. The current conversion rate which is updated daily and posted in the store, will be used on the date of sale to convert to $CDN.
2. Do sales taxes have to be paid on auction purchases?Yes. Based in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Woodwell Antiquities must collect 8% Provincial Sales Tax and 7% Goods and Services Tax on applicable purchases. Bidders in Ontario and the rest of Canada must account for applicable taxes on top of their bid price.

Anyone who has a bidding number or alias can bid. Upon registering online, you can select a bidder name, which is yours forever.
